Plate Count Agar (PCA)
Direction:
Suspend 23,5g in 1000ml distiled water, boil to dissolve th medium completely. Sterilize by autoclaving at 15 lbs pressure (121oC) for 15 minute.
Standard formula:
Casein enzymic hydrolysate 5 g/l
Yeast extract 2,5 g/l
Dextrose 1 g/l
Agar 15 g/l
Final pH (at 25oC) 7,0
Use:
For the determination of plate counts of microorganisms in foods, water and wast water.
